PeOplE tHaT mAkE You BetTeR!
The holidays direct us to gratitude and emanate from self-formed
/taught/learned and possibly partially borrowed adages.
My first are my Four A’s. It used to be my three, but added one on the end recently as my children advanced into their teenage years and this became required for sanity’s sake.
They are Awareness, Acceptance, Action, and Adaptability.
Walk through each step. Anytime we lose center, go back and think through those A’s. It works!
I won’t kid myself and I won’t kid you by admitting there have been many challenges raising kids now 12 and 14 for the majority of 15 years at my now ripe age of 66. And many rewards.
My next guiding holy light is my FOUR P’S.
Those are Patience, Persistence, Perseverance, and Purpose.
Admittedly Patience is a weakness and something to constantly work on. Boiling life down to your Purpose really makes things exciting.
Teaching my children as a wise Dad?? ( am I? ), writing and marketing a gritty book to share, entertaining and touch people, and popping out these blogs defines my Purpose. In fact, if you haven’t already preordered that dang book, you can use the link here to do so and gift yourself for the holidays! Guaranteed you will be entertained! Now available in paperback and ebook. Audiobook version coming soon
Back to business, it often requires going back to those principles of the A’s and the P’s to keep things in Perspective. Hey, that might be another P. Ha ha. None of us are Perfect - we are far from it and it’s something we never want to Push for. Life is beautiful, warts, and all.
With that, let’s keep monitoring ourselves and finding those People in our lives that make us better, as Prescribed. Use the A’s and P’s and with that centering, then go out and enjoy life - do the things on your bucket list and let it all hang out.
We will be holiday traveling to Loreto Mexico, a place that’s been on my short list for quite some time. After traversing the world with a backpack post college for over a year, I discovered then that travel was the one thing that you could never get enough of and there was never enough time to do and see it all. So have a great holiday and we will salute you from Baja and check back in with you next year with love and grace.
